The year is 1720, and the British Empire is expanding its reach across the globe. The film takes place in the Caribbean, where pirates roam free and the seas are filled with mystery and danger. We meet our protagonist, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), a blacksmith's apprentice who's struggling to find his place in the world. Will's life changes forever when he meets Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), the daughter of the Governor of Port Royal. Elizabeth is a strong-willed and independent young woman who's not afraid to take risks.
