The patcher does not decrypt the game entirely; instead, it targets specific offsets within the ROM’s file system—usually the main.npdm or exefs files—and replaces specific hexadecimal values.

Patches usually come as .xdelta , .ips , or .bps files. You will find these on GitHub, GBAtemp forums, or fan translation sites (e.g., Ryujinx mod databases).
