Hizbul Bahr is a famous supplication taught by Imam Abul Hasan al-Shadhili (1196–1258 AD), the founder of the Shadhili Sufi order. It is called the "Litany of the Sea" because the Imam reportedly recited it while crossing the Mediterranean Sea on a ship that was in danger of sinking; upon his recitation, the seas calmed.
