Hizashi (日差し) is a Japanese word for "sunlight" or "sunbeam." Unlike the harsh noon sun ( taiyō ), hizashi evokes a softer, more intimate light—rays filtering through leaves, the golden glow on a tatami mat, the warmth of late afternoon. Naka (の中) means "inside."
